A bit of web questing led me to the US Copyright office site, where I entered the familiar "Rumph" search.
The record goes back to 1978, and shows that "Rumph, James C., 1942-" copyrighted several designs ideas, including a Hulk Hogan mug and a "No Nukes" or "Meltdown" mug.
Also included is the Ninja Turtle design, which I think Tombyturtle has now.
"Rumph, Daryle Ann, 1945-" also has several copyright entries. Notice the spelling of her name, which varies on this site.
I would have loved to have seen the Meltdown Mug. Perhaps a friend of Jim's out there has a prototype. And this is the first indication I've seen that Daryle Ann was a designer as well.
Perhaps I've added a bit to Rumph scholarship here, or maybe it's already been discussed and I missed it, but either way, it's fun to find mention of a Rumph creation I haven't heard of before.
If you find out more - please share it here! And feel free to contact me.
