My husband has a Barbaric Bar & Beastly bookshelf, but it really needs to be cleaned and polished. How can I clean this treasure and what do I use to make it shine like some of the other ones seen on this website?

If it doesn't shine after removing the dust, it won't. I suggest using warm soapy water and DELICATELY try cleaning it with a soft cloth. The paint on the Bars is very FRAGILE so be careful! do you think that I could use a soft toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies to clean or would that not be a good idea?

Q-tips would be gentler than a toothbrush - No?

I'm so glad you replied, bees! I will try that and let you know how it turns out. The bookshelf faces my side of the bed so every night my rumphangel watches me while I sleep...the least I can do is get him cleaned up!!

Yeah, it may even take a couple of boxes to do a thorough job of it, but totally worth the effort! I wouldn't use anything other that warm water with a very small amount of liquid dishwasher soap (it's soft on hands and Rumphs!) Let me know how it turns out! Beesknees9

;D That is so great to hear! I'm glad that you were able to resore him to his former glory! Now you can enjoy him properly! I came up with a great way to keep it from collecting dust in the tiny nooks and crannies, get one of those spray cans full of air that are used to clear dust from keyboards. It's what I use to keep my whole Rumph collection dust free. You can find them at any office supply store and give your shelves a little blast of air once in a while and you'll never get the build-up again! Take care! Beesknees9
