I just happened to trip on this web page. I was one of the original master mold makers that worked with Californial Originals Ceramics a long time ago. I was the fellow that worked on the first master molds of Jim's. Star Wars tankard line. In fact I still have the one and only R2D2 stein mug that was cast before the mold broke.

Recently a R2-D2 Rumph Stein was sold on ebay, selling for over a grand. As a Star Wars collector, with a focus on R2, I am interested in any information you may have about this piece. Any history you can give, plus estimated number out there, etc. Any good information is wanted. Apparently the ebay sale gives an approximate value of $1100, does that seem correct based on what is known? The post above, from the mold maker, states that only one stein was made. Is that possible? Probable? definite? Sorry about all the questions but I have no knowledge in this area and this is a piece that interests me. Any help you can provide is appreciated. The ebay auction is: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7382881166&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Thanks Mike
